Windber Public Library is a 501(c)(3) organization that works to empower our community, provide access to information, and promote life long learning. Windber Public Library provides computers, wifi, inter library loan, a local history collection, STEM opportunities, and much more to meet these values.

The Windber Public Library's Board comprises leaders from the non-profit and for-profit sector who are dedicated to the organization's mission to 'empower our community through equal access to materials, services, and programs'.

Our board members champion the importance of literacy in the community. Not just basic literacy, but also digital, health, financial, civic and cultural literacy's too. In addition to the standard roles and responsibilities of a board member, our board members are active advocates and ambassadors for the organization and are fully engaged in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for the Windber Public Library to advance its mission.

Advocacy-We seek a board leader to advocate on the library's behalf to the community, someone well-connected in the community who is passionate about the library's mission, and can leverage their networks and resources in support of the library.
